"If you crave community, you have to BE COMMUNITY". This very profound statement by Amanda Wynn captured the very essence of what brought many of us to this event- the intentional building of relationships to best serve the community. The work to be done in the Black community will never cease. It is our job to continue to meet in spaces such as this to build the community we wish to see!
YES, I'm advocating for you to visit these locations and YES, I'm sharing the highlights what was one of the dopest ideas I've had in a while. Most importantly, I want to remind all of my young melanated professionals who are perhaps as close to bored as I was regardless, to get up, get "out the house" and if you remember nothing else I share with you ...
Authenticity. I’ve been told a time or two that I make people feel extremely comfortable and important. I’ve been this way since I was young girl, I accept it as a gift from God. So when I sit down with my guest for an interview or even during my solo episodes talks, I want whoever is listening or participating to feel a part of the conversation and feel moved to be their most authentic self.
God reminds us that He does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called. If you listened to the latest show Episode 48 Keiona 2.0, you may have heard me share that I know for a fact I’m transitioning into a different space. Truth is, I’ve played small for some time now, and need to activate my magic and THINK BIGGER. I need to activate the momentum I had when I applied for college scholarships and my first year of college. I was UNSTOPPABLE. I was DETERMINED. NOTHING was too big for me accomplish. Anybody else feel me?
